What Is Chemical-Resistant O-Ring Cord Stock?
Cord stock is uncut FKM (Viton) fluoroelastomer cord sold in fixed lengths rather than pre-formed rings, so it can be cut and bonded into a custom O-ring in a size that isn't stocked as a finished part. LILY Bearing carries this cord in three cross-section shapes — round, X-profile, and square — rated from 5°F to 395°F. Unlike pre-formed chemical-resistant O-rings, which are also offered in FFKM (Kalrez) for extreme conditions, cord stock is available in FKM only.

ETP (Extreme Temp) round cord trades a narrower low end — 25°F versus 5°F for standard Viton — for improved performance at the high end of the range. Cord stock is sold in fixed cut lengths; customers bond the cut piece into a ring sized for their specific gland.

ETP denotes an Extreme Temp variant of Viton cord. It carries the same 395°F high-temperature ceiling as standard Viton cord but a higher low-temperature floor of 25°F rather than 5°F.
Why does round cord stock come in more hardness options than X or square?
Round is the highest-volume shape and carries 55A, 75A, and 90A hardness options, while X-profile and square cord are currently stocked only in 75A. If your application calls for a softer or harder compound in X or square, round may need to be substituted or a custom order placed.
