Thrust Bearings
LILY Bearing stocks sleeve bearings (also called bearing bushing sleeve or bushing) in three body styles — plain, flanged, and thrust — each available oil-embedded, dry-running (self-lubricating), or as a standard bronze sleeve bearing requiring periodic grease, in both inch (3,713 options) and metric (2,076 options) sizing. New to sleeve bearings? See our Sleeve Bearing Types, Materials & Uses guide for how they work and how to size one for your shaft and housing. Use the filters below, or the comparison tables, to narrow down by body style, lubrication type, and material.
Compare Sleeve Bearings by Lubrication Type
Across all three body styles, sleeve bearings come in three lubrication families:
| Type | Lubrication | Typical Material | Best For | Watch Out For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Oil-Embedded Sleeve Bearings | Pre-lubricated, oil-impregnated | SAE 841 sintered bronze | Continuous-duty motors, fans, pumps, generators | Needs periodic re-oiling — see our Sleeve Bearing Lubrication guide for the best lubricant and interval |
| Dry-Running Sleeve Bearings | Self-lubricating, maintenance-free | Nylon or PTFE-based composite; some flanged/high-load types add a metal-backed casing | Washdown, food-industry, or hard-to-access installs | Verify liner material against operating temperature and chemical exposure |
| Standard (Multipurpose / Corrosion-Resistant) Sleeve Bearings | Requires periodic grease | Cast bronze alloy (leaded or aluminum-bronze); corrosion-resistant grades add stainless steel or specialized alloys | General-duty or corrosive/washdown environments | Needs a scheduled grease interval |
Compare Sleeve Bearings by Body Style
| Style | Load Direction | Where to Look | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plain (Sleeve Bearings) | Radial only | Sleeve Bearings, Oil-Embedded Sleeve Bearings, Dry-Running Sleeve Bearings | Lowest cost per bearing; needs a separate means of axial location |
| Flanged (Flanged Sleeve Bearings) | Radial + axial, direct housing mount | Flanged Sleeve Bearings, Oil-Embedded Flanged Sleeve Bearings, Dry-Running Flanged Sleeve Bearings | Also called a sleeve bearing with flange or flange type sleeve bearing; see flanged sleeve bearing dimensions on each subcategory page |
| Thrust (Thrust Bearings) | Axial only | Thrust Bearings, Oil-Embedded Thrust Bearings, Dry-Running Thrust Bearings | Pure axial/thrust bearing sleeve; pair with a plain sleeve bearing for radial support |
Self-aligning (spherical) sleeve bearings — offered in the Self-Aligning Dry-Running Flanged Sleeve Bearings and High-Speed Self-Aligning Dry-Running Flanged Sleeve Bearings lines — automatically compensate for shaft misalignment.
Materials & Specifications
Bronze sleeve bearings — oil-embedded SAE 841 sintered bronze, or cast leaded- and aluminum-bronze alloys in the standard/multipurpose lines — cover most duty levels; corrosion-resistant grades are also available in stainless steel or other specialized alloys. Dry-running lines use a nylon or PTFE-based self-lubricating plastic sleeve bearing material, sometimes with a rigid metal-backed casing on high-load flanged types. Both plain and flanged lines are stocked in inch and metric bore sizing, including flanged sleeve bearing metric options. Exact bore, outer diameter, length, flange, and tolerance specifications — the full bearing sleeve specification — are listed on each subcategory's product listing.
Applications & Panel Mounting
Typical sleeve bearing applications include electric motors, generators, pumps, fans, and HVAC equipment — see individual subcategory pages for full sleeve bearing uses by equipment type. Sleeve bearing motors and other HVAC sleeve bearing installations often call for a panel-mount design: Panel-Mount Oil-Embedded and Panel-Mount Dry-Running sleeve bearings — both mounted sleeve bearing options — bolt straight through an equipment panel where a separate pillow block isn't practical.
Need a Custom or Bulk Order?
As a sleeve bearing manufacturer and bearing sleeve manufacturer, LILY Bearing can cross-reference an existing bushing, or act as a sleeve bushing bearing provider for a custom motor sleeve bearing configuration — including sizes for ball mills and other heavy machinery.
