Low-Strength Steel Distorted-Thread Cap Locknuts
For a stronger hold than nylon-insert cap locknuts, these locknuts have an irregularly shaped thread that grips the bolt and resists loosening from vibration. They are made of Grade 2 steel, so they are about half the strength of medium-strength steel nuts and are often used in light duty applications, such as securing access panels.
