Miniature Angular Contact Ball Bearings
What is miniature angular contact bearing?
Miniature angular contact bearings are a special kind of ball bearings, there is a certain contact angle between its inner and outer rings and rolling bodies (usually steel balls), this contact angle makes the bearings able to withstand radial load and axial load at the same time. Miniature angular contact bearings are small in size and are usually used in applications with strict space requirements and high requirements for dynamic balance, noise, vibration and stability.
Structure
Miniature angular contact bearings are composed of inner ring, outer ring, rolling element and cage. Inner ring and outer ring are conical, rolling body is spherical, keep frame is usually made of iron or plastic. The taper of the inner ring and outer ring intersect at the center of the bearing, and the angle of the taper is the same as the axis. This structure makes the bearings to be able to reasonably distribute the pressure when working, so as to bear large radial and axial loads.

Principle of operation
The operating principle of miniature angular contact bearings is based on rolling friction. When the load is applied to the bearing, the rolling elements start to roll between the inner and outer rings, transferring the load and reducing friction through rolling. Due to the existence of rolling friction, the rolling body is subjected to both axial and radial forces. The size of the contact angle determines the ability of the bearing to withstand axial load, the larger the contact angle, the higher the ability to withstand axial load.
Performance characteristics
- Load carrying capacity: miniature angular contact bearings are able to withstand both radial and axial loads, and have a strong load carrying capacity.
- High-speed performance: Due to its design makes the rolling body rolling along a specific contact angle, miniature angular contact bearings perform well in high-speed operation, with high speed and efficiency.
- High precision: miniature angular contact bearings have excellent stiffness and precision, and are able to maintain small deformation when subjected to large loads.
- Low friction: transferring loads by rolling, miniature angular contact bearings have lower friction and higher efficiency compared with sliding bearings.
- Long life: correct lubrication and maintenance can reduce friction and wear, and prolong the service life of bearings.
Application field
Miniature angular contact bearings are widely used in a variety of small and miniature machinery and equipment, including but not limited to:
- Machine tools: used for main bearings and ball screw supports to improve the precision and stability of machine tools.
- Wheel loaders: to withstand large radial and axial loads and improve the reliability and durability of loaders.
- High-speed power tools: to meet the requirements of high-speed operation and high precision, to improve the efficiency and performance of power tools.
- Automotive transmissions: used in transmissions to withstand large radial and axial loads, improve transmission efficiency and stability of transmissions.
